Gadji Celi is marking four decades in music with a big night in Abidjan. His concert Apothéose takes place on 31 October 2026 at the Parc des Expositions in Port-Bouët, with a 7 pm start, and is billed as the culmination of his 40-year career.
Few Ivorian artists have such a double story. Before music, Gadji Celi was a footballer and captain of the Elephants, and he was part of the squad that won the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations. He then built a second career as a singer whose repertoire has accompanied several generations of Ivorians.
The countdown started with a classic. In early September he released an official video for Amoudjou, one of his signature songs, 26 years after its release. The clip passed one million views in nine days.
The concert lands in a busy month for live music in Abidjan, with Kajeem joined by Didier Awadi at the Palais de la Culture on 10 October and TAYC at the Parc des Expositions on 11 October.
Tickets for Apothéose are sold through the Tikerama platform.
