Tunis is preparing a month of music at the crossroads. Jaou Tunis runs from 23 October to 22 November 2026, with a programme built around new musical scenes from the Arab world and beyond.

The line-up, presented by Music In Africa, favours artists who mix regional heritage with electronic and contemporary urban cultures. The music programming is led by Imed Alibi and Marouane Ferchichi.

Highlights include Yasmine Hamdan on 25 October, Shabaka Hutchings on 26 October, Khalil Epi with the project Tuqûs on 28 October and Nadah El Shazly on 31 October. Big Murk, Toumba and Julmud share a night on 29 October.

The event closes on 22 November with Hyperculte. Partners include the British Council, Pro Helvetia, Wallonie-Bruxelles and the French and Italian cultural institutes.

For North African music, it is a chance to be heard in dialogue rather than in isolation — and in Tunis rather than in a European capital.
