Orange Culture presented its Fall/Winter 2026 collection, Backyards of Memory, at Berlin Fashion Week on 1 February 2026, at M60 in Kreuzberg — the label’s second show in the city.
Adebayo Oke-Lawal started from a personal place: the backyard of his childhood in Nigeria, where life unfolded. Rather than reconstruct the past, the collection works with nostalgia, loss and warmth, in a palette inspired by sunlight, earth and time.
The pieces combine gender-fluid silhouettes and sculptural tailoring with hand-dyed fabrics, macramé and crochet dresses, prints and hand-pleated trousers. The collection was built with African and diaspora collaborators — including Kisara for bags, Paolo Sisiano for prints and In Jewels for jewellery — and with local craftspeople for dyeing and handwork.
It is a reminder that a runway in Berlin can be a showcase for an entire Lagos creative network.
